Written by James Wong. Engage with him on G+

I just called out three major setbacks people deal with all in one title.

I’ve been searching for the answer for years, how do I stop procrastinatinghow can I be on point, high performing in all areas of my life… and get what I want?

I found the answer for myself… And I found out, it’s the difference between someone who’s extremely successful and someone who’s mediocre.
It’s time the world got this – - no more separation.

The answer: show up everyday, measure the results, and don’t do it alone.

Yup… that’s it, Love.

How I Unlocked My Highest Potential Through Raw Foods

The physiology of food is powerful beyond words.

For years I was in search of ‘the perfect diet’. Meaning, of course, the type of diet that makes you a lean, mean, killing machine. The type of diet everyone seems to be after these days. The type of diet that seems to focus on numbers, macronutrients (proteins FTW) and restriction (don’t you know carbs are the ENEMY?). One day I grew tired of being mean, grumpy, short-tempered and eating solely for the sake of a trim body.

I wanted more out of life.

What many people fail to realize, like I once did, is that foods don’t affect just our physical body. Foods don’t solely have the ability to make us skinny or fat or provide us with vitamin XYZ. Food also affects our energetic body, emotional body and spiritual body.

The first time I noticed this was after going vegan, pretty much overnight. Eating a vegan diet made me a more compassionate person, and not just towards animals. I started caring more for the environment, the people around me, and I became more easy-going over time. Don’t get me wrong, I am still high-maintenance (I am a woman, after all) and very, ehm, passionate, but I’ve become a little softer around the edges for sure.

It was at that moment that I felt I a change in my entire being, not just my physical body, simply by changing my diet, that I started to understand exactly how much the foods we put in our body affect us.

I was ready for more and stumbled upon ‘raw food’

How Chicken Nuggets and Anemia Showed Me the Way to Success and Life

I need to confess something. Something of which I’m pretty ashamed…

For a short time last year, I contributed heavily to the declining health of the people of America.  I’ll tell you how in a moment, but first a story:

I was reading the ever-so-entertaining Yahoo! news when I came upon a story that made my jaw drop.

What happened is, this 17-year-old girl collapsed and was rushed to the hospital… she was struggling to breathe… and… she had swollen veins in her tongue!

So what was wrong with her? It’s pretty shocking, really.

I’ll tell you: this girl had eaten nothing but Chicken McNuggets for fifteen years! A decade and a half of pure, unadulterated garbage.

Okay, okay… I’m exaggerating a little. She also sometimes frequented the KFC. But… get this… she has NEVER in her life eaten a piece of fruit or any veggies! She had gotten anemia.

So, what does all of this have to do with making money? Well…

Grasping the difference between “What actually happened” and “What I made it mean”

Written by Brit Sharon. Connect with her on Tw.

My father loves me.

I can confidently state this fact even thought my entire adolescence would argue.

Understanding the difference between  “What actually happened” and “What I made it mean” came up during a conversation about recently signing up to ride in the AIDS/LIFECYCLE, a bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles that raises money for AIDS prevention, education and medicine, which quickly turned into me ragging on my dad about how he doesn’t support me participating in the ride and frankly in anything I do.

Midsentence my friend interrupted me and asked,

“Now what actually happened?”

I looked at him and said,

“I just told you, I told dad I signed up and he said it was a stupid idea.”

My friend was grinning for some reason,

“I heard you say that, but what did your dad actually say, like the words?”

I looked at my friend in confusion, I explained to him that my dad had told me it sounds like a hard ride and that he wouldn’t spend $800 on a bike, which I did.

“It sounds like your dad was just concerned for you,”

my friend said.

That got my attention. Read More

Why I Only Eat the Highest Quality of Food

Just one minute ago before sitting down to write to you, I just finished eating the juiciest pear imaginable. I had carefully picked it at my local health food store, and set it on the kitchen counter for nearly a week so it could ripen naturally. The green flesh; the creamy insides dripping with flavor. The texture of gritty silk as I bite down on the flesh. It was so juicy that I had to bend over the kitchen sink to eat it.

I eat the absolutely best food ever. And you can too…

Last month in Evolyfe magazine, James Wong wrote an article about how to live a higher quality of life. It’s such an amazing and bold declaration to choose to live a higher quality of life. Living a higher quality of life is truly a multifaceted project.

When you decide to live a higher quality of life, there is one part of that exciting adventure ahead of you – eating the highest quality of food.

A Guide to Being Human: The End of Playing “Roles”

Let me ask you an odd question.

How many people do you think you have come in contact with in your lifetime?

Chances are you’ve spoken to thousands of different people in your life. Clerks … police … doctors … taxi drivers … strangers …

I’ve communicated (on a superficial level) with thousands of diverse people in dozens of countries. Yet, I have only a handful of good friends that I “bare my soul to”, if you will.

Doesn’t that blow your mind? It’s amazing and sad at the same time.

Amazing because we have the ability to meet so many people…

And sad because we play “roles” with people we are unfamiliar with. I will explain what I mean by “roles” in a moment, but first I want to tell you a story that I think illustrates my point: Read More

In fact, travelling on the cheap can be an amazing adventure – you’ll be more in touch with the locals, meet many fellow travellers and foster the feeling of independence and freedom. If you’ve never been travelling on a budget, it’s about time you leave your pre-planned tours, fancy hotels and rental cars behind and experience travel in a pure and simple way. It might change the way you look at the world, and it will definitely let you keep going for longer…and on and on and on… I have travelled for as little as $600 a month in Asia and India – and you can too!

My Music Story: The Quitter vs. The Dreamer

It was not too long ago that I remember being a “quitter.”

When I was fourteen I started playing guitar and knew that when I was older I would be a recording artist whose music would touch the lives of millions. I started playing at open mics when I was fifteen and writing songs by sixteen. I became “the girl with the guitar” and was playing for friends and seeing the beautiful impact my songs had on people. It was one of the most rewarding parts of my existence. However, when it came to performing live I couldn’t overcome my nerves. I thought I would never be able to perform without shaking and feeling butterflies in my stomach. The traumatic experience was just too painful. So I quit.

The Not-To-Do List: 2 Ways to Struggle Falling Asleep

Do you have trouble going to bed?

Sometimes I do. Why? Because I live a big life. Why? Because when I die, I want to be thoroughly used up.

You probably live big too, that’s why you’ll continue reading.. ;)

What’s it going to take to finally be able to drift off to sleep with ease? It begins by managing your mind.

See our mind is awesome, it’s always remembering things that didn’t get done for the day, it’s always innovating new ideas for our businesses and projects, and it’s always making sure our needs, feelings and desires, are met. If we don’t manage our mind in way that gives it peace, it won’t let us sleep.

“Not-to-do” lists are often much more handy than to-do lists. Consider, what you don’t do determines what you can do.

Here are 3 things to stop doing before bed if you want to fall asleep faster and drift away comfortably:

Yoga: Why I Love it! And How I live a Higher Quality of Life Doing It!

I practice yoga because it’s the best thing I can do for my body.

I was a runner since I was 16, but in my twenties, yoga steadily took over my exercise regime. I started practicing on a weekly basis in a Bikram studio. After a year or so, in which I started going more and more often, this turned into a daily practice.

Bikram yoga will probably always be my favorite. I love the intensity and I love breaking a sweat.

Sometimes I leave the studio for a while, sometimes I even leave practice for a while but I always come back. I love yoga and how it rewards me. For me, yoga is essential. Everything else is recreational.

I was running down the streets of Pompeii.

Yes, the ancient city that long ago was covered in volcanic ash. You see, I was on a mission.

Not just me. My best friend at the time was also on a mission with me. We were going to climb to the top of Mt Vesuvius, look the crater in the eye and say,

“Explode. I dare you.”

Truth be told though I really didn’t want anything exploding while I was in the center of it. But it makes for a hell of a story.

Let me back up a bit to explain to you how I found myself in this Indiana Jones-esque adventure in the first place.

I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D.

The purpose of this article is to deliver the world a message,

“you are enough, you are worthy, and you are a miracle.”

When you get that you are a miracle, you will step into your greatness and contribute to making a difference in the world. In that moment, the world is transformed because of you and your miraculous contribution.

Many times, we go through life having conversations about what it is to have a life that is worth living; a life that is extraordinary; a life that we can call “a life of our dreams”.

We often do what we are told, or often times we do the opposite. We do what we think is best for us or what other people think is best for us.

We grow up, work really hard, and strive to seek for that perfect person to be with. If we are lucky, we end up with the perfect job, the perfect mate, the perfect house, and the perfect family, but yet, we are left feeling empty because we ask ourselves: is this it? Or, we don’t have the perfect whatever, and we are always chasing that perfect something; “the ideal”.

Life then seems “not enough”. We struggle to make ends meet–paycheck by paycheck–so we can live a comfortable life. But, it never seems to measure up. It is like being in the rat race, the human race, the race that keeps on going, and we wonder when it will ever end. Read More
